I signed up as a member in May, 2009 but I see your membership term has now changed to a calendar year period.  Is my membership good until May, 2010?

-- 8(a) Construction company, Louisiana

A qualified Yes, and thanks for your support!  You're entitled to full member benefits, including use of available discounts, through May, 2010.  Going forward, however, all member applications - for both renewals and for new members - are being processed for a calendar year period only.  We will maintain a membership term that coincides with the calendar year fiscal period required by the Government of all 8(a) firms.  It's also more efficient for our office to maintain membership periods that are identical for all.

On your winter banner image, what are some of those buildings used for?

-- 8(a) IT services company, Virginia

They're a little hard to see, aren't they?  Here's a better view, and details on the tallest three buildings.

Anchorage

At center, the Robert B. Atwood building, 550 West Seventh Ave., named for the late (1907 - 1997) publisher of the former Anchorage Times, and a leading proponent of statehood in the late 1950s, is 20 stories tall. The Anchorage offices of the State of Alaska are consolidated here.

The Conoco-Phillips building, 700 G Street, at center-right, is 22 stories and at 90 meters currently the tallest building in Alaska.
