NEON: Data and Infrastructure to Understand Changing Ecosystems

The National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) is a continental-scale observation facility that collects long-term, open access ecological data to better understand how ecosystems are changing across the United States. This webinar will introduce NEON as well as the resources available for accessing and working with its data. It will also cover NEON’s instrumented, observational, and airborne sampling systems and how these are maintained and engineered to adapt to environmental impacts while ensuring configuration and standardization across infrastructure on a national scale. Lastly, the presentation will showcase published research studies that use NEON to demonstrate how its science can be used to examine how climate change is altering ecosystems.
